I have been a loyal customer of Wakefield Oil Change Plus for years and regularly bring three vehicles there. I have always had good service in the past, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
On my most recent visit, I arrived at 3:50 PM, well before closing. I left work early specifically to get my oil change done. There were five or six vehicles ahead of me, which I expected. I waited patiently. At 4:44 PM, when there were only two cars in front of me and one vehicle in the bay, a staff member came out and told me they would not be able to accommodate me because it would take too long.
I asked if there was any way they could accommodate me given that I had already been waiting almost an hour and that they would only have needed to stay approximately 10 to 20 additional minutes to complete my service. I was told no.
I understand businesses have posted hours and want to close on time. However, when a customer arrives well before closing and waits in line for a service advertised to take about 10 minutes, it is unreasonable to turn them away after such a long wait. What made this worse was the complete lack of communication. No one came out earlier to inform customers that they might not get through the lineup. Had that been communicated, I could have made other arrangements instead of wasting my time.
I asked to speak to a manager. When he came out, he was very blunt and dismissive. He said, “Well you should have been able to count how many cars are in front of you and estimate the time.” I did count. Based on the number of vehicles and the advertised service time, there was more than enough time remaining. I understand that some customers add additional services, but that does not justify telling someone who has already waited nearly an hour that they will not be served.
I live in an apartment with no garage, and winter parking conditions are snowy and difficult. Doing my own oil changes is not realistic during the winter months, which is why I rely on businesses like this.
After years of loyalty and bringing three vehicles there regularly, this was extremely disappointing. I will not be returning.
I went to Great Canadian Oil Change instead, where the service was impeccable. I was greeted properly, kept informed, and even offered coffee and water while I waited. The difference in customer service was significant.
Wakefield Oil Change Plus needs to seriously improve how they manage lineups and communicate with customers, especially those who arrive before closing time.

Your typical get it done mechanic, greatful for these guys; four people working on a Saturday, that is a great business moto I love supporting. Great job from BC thanks for making my drive safe!
We're out of my key fobs battery but kind enough to find me the model number and sent me somewhere else, saving me time and allowing me to get back on the road .. don't know if I was even in there 10 mins for my oil change, take my advice if you don't use this place to get your oil done start doing so.

I was able to get a rust proofing appointment online, came in and they did it fast. They were nice and explained things well to me. However, I asked to get my tire pressure checked and one guy forgot to put my right side tire caps back on 🥴 so I was driving around without two caps for weeks!😬😅 It was early morning and busy... Easy mistake... 🙈

Can't say enough good stuff about these guys. Price is fair, work is great. They do a little check around your vehicle just like everywhere else, but don't charge you for all the bull the other places in town charge. Top up air in tires, not charge my wife $50 for an air filter, these guys cleaned it with an air compressor and called it a day. Won't go anywhere else.

We just drove through on our way from Neys Provincial Park to Quetico. We dropped our little trailer out back and these guys changed our oil. What an amazing job! They were super friendly and very quick. They work so well together as a team! Thanks!!!
